My Philosophy

Finding Our Rhythm Through Life's Transitions

Life is always changing.

The seasons shift.
Our children grow.
Our bodies change.
Our roles, relationships, and priorities evolve.

Yet somewhere along the way, many of us learned to believe that wellness means keeping up, pushing through, and staying the same.

But change isn't the problem.

The challenge is that we haven't always been taught how to move through change with steadiness and care.

The Hidden Transition of Parenting Adolescents

Adolescence is often described as a time when children separate, grow, and discover who they are becoming.

But every child's transition creates a transition for the parent, too.

As your child needs you differently, your role begins to change. The ways you've cared, guided, and connected may need to evolve.

At the same time, you may be navigating changes within yourself—your body, your energy, your relationships, your priorities, and your sense of identity.

This is one of the great, often-unspoken transitions of family life:

A child becoming more independent.

A parent learning a new way of being.

Both are becoming.

Both deserve support.

We've Lost the Rhythms That Support Us

We often tell ourselves:

"I'll take care of myself when life settles down."

But life isn't meant to settle down.

It's meant to change.

What we need isn't another way to push harder or do more. We need rhythms that help us stay grounded within the movement of life - simple practices that support our bodies, calm our nervous systems, and help us respond to life's challenges with greater presence.

Ayurveda Offers a Different Perspective

Ayurveda reminds us that wellness isn't about following a perfect formula.

It's about learning to listen.

Our needs change with each season of life. Our routines need to evolve with us.

Rather than resisting change, Ayurveda invites us to create rhythms that support who we are now.

What I Believe

I believe we don't struggle because life changes.

We struggle because we've lost the rhythms that help us move through change.

I believe wellness doesn't have to be complicated.

I believe small, consistent shifts create lasting change.

I believe supporting yourself isn't separate from supporting your family.

Because when you feel more grounded, your family feels it too.

I believe we don't struggle because life changes.

We struggle because we've lost the rhythms that help us move through change.

“I came to Shannon for help with processing some high impact losses in my life. Working with Shannon over the last 6 months has helped improve all ares of my life: spiritual, physical, emotional and professional. She has provided concrete ways of holding myself accountable to my goals so I can actually achieve them! But the real gift of Shannon’s work is her spiritual practice which shines through in every session we have: it is unique, powerful and extremely insightful. Worth mentioning is that I have always felt safe. This type of work is very personal and sometimes quite painful and I’ve always felt Shannon respects my journey.”
